This Has been examined by a master valuer, and a retail replacement value of $1,265 Canadian was determined ( approx. $960 US funds at time of listing) for gem only. Most jewelers know diamonds very well, but little or nothing about colored gems. Master valuers are experts in all stones. The silver setting was custom made for the stone, with clear topaz accents.
Many of our stones 'deserve' gold settings, but I prefer to set in sterling. Most people cannot tell the difference between white gold and a sterling setting coated in rhodium to prevent tarnishing ( rhodium is more expensive than gold)
You can always have set in gold in the future if you wish...most people find our prices excellent for the gems alone, before setting accounted for.

The accurate appraisal of emeralds is difficult, as slight color changes can affect price, and, being what is known as a type111 gem, I find the inclusions somewhat confusing. So. All our gemstones are true gems, earth mined, not man made, hand cut, not machine cut. EXPECT FLAWS! We provide unaltered pictures of the gem for you at very high magnification. Even worse than the lab produced stones are the glass enhanced ones....almost worthless.
