THIS IS A GENUINE EARTH MINED Emerald. This gem is 2.51 carats, and is 10.2 x 8.7 x 4.5 mm . Has been examined by a master valuer, and a retail replacement value of $1,975 Canadian was determined for the gem alone. Most jewelers know diamonds very well, but little or nothing about colored gems. Master valuers are experts in all stones. A copy of the appraisal unsigned and unsealed included at no charge. IMPORTANT NOTE: Gorgeous setting, but for health reasons I can no longer set gemstones. The setting is included at no additional charge, but you will have to have a jeweler set it for you.
The setting was custom made for the stone, in sterling, with clear topaz accents. Many of our stones 'deserve' gold settings, but I prefer to set in sterling. Most people cannot tell the difference between white gold and a sterling setting coated in rhodium to prevent tarnishing ( rhodium is more expensive than gold) You can always have set in gold in the future if you wish...our prices are excellent for the gems alone, before setting accounted for.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The accurate appraisal of emeralds is difficult, as slight color changes can affect price, and, being what is known as a type111 gem, I find the inclusions somewhat confusing. So. All my better emeralds are examined by a master valuer. ANY questions, please ask.

All our gemstones are true gems, earth mined, not man made, hand cut, not machine cut. EXPECT FLAWS! We provide unaltered pictures of the gem for you at very high magnification. Minor inclusions in any gem are not, as some think, a bad thing. They help a gemologist determine the authenticity of a gem.
