The setting is approx 14k solid gold, but setting was made off shore and is not hallmarked. Size 7.Set with diamond melee: 52 1mm diamonds . 1.88 cwt spinel. 8.6x7x4.1mm
Spinels are wonderful gems often mistaken for other gems. Thin one looks like a fine purple sapphire. Indeed, the Black Price's ruby in the British crown jewels was discovered to actually be a spinel !!
