Natural Earth Mined . Please read the IMPORTANT TERMS AND INFORMATION page at least once as it applies to all listings. Video available on request . ANY questions, please ask. Stone appraised by independent master valuer BEFORE the stone was placed in a clear topaz-accented silver setting, custom made for the stone. This gem deserves a gold setting. Get one at wholesale

Yellow topaz wholesales to the trade today for approx. $10 for a 1 cwt stone of very low grade quality to approx. $400 for a one carat example of extra fine quality. The price goes up to $750 per cwt. for extra fine larger examples. The retail price can be several times that, depending on the retailers markup.
Appraised for retail replacement by one of Canada's top appraisers, before setting. Retail replacement is for bricks and mortar jewelers with high overheads..... my prices are always much lower, and are determined by what I had to pay. Now retired, I am doing this to raise funds for charities I believe in.

THIS IS A GENUINE EARTH MINED topaz. Appraisal by a master valuer ( at time of this listing I am using Steven Knight GG, R.M.V., CJA-CAP) for a retail replacement value of $1,455 Canadian A copy of the appraisal unsigned and unsealed included at no charge. If you want a signed ,sealed copy for insurance purposes, one can be sent to you for an additional $25. Master valuers are considered THE experts on coloured gems, and their appraisals are accepted by insurance companies as genuine retail replacement value.

Appraisal was made BEFORE the stone was placed in a clear topaz-accented sterling setting, custom made for the stone.
Set by students, expect minor flaws ( prongs too long, stone not exactly set square, little rough around edges etc. ) Most people do not mind....but if you do, the price is right and you can have a qualified jeweler rectify.
Many of our stones 'deserve' gold settings, but I prefer to set in sterling. Most people cannot tell the difference between white gold and a sterling setting coated in rhodium to prevent tarnishing ( rhodium is more expensive than gold)
You can always have set in gold in the future if you wish...Our prices are excellent for the gems alone, before setting accounted for.

All our gemstones are true gems, earth mined, not man made, hand cut, not machine cut. EXPECT FLAWS! We provide unaltered pictures of the gem for you at very high magnification. Minor inclusions in any gem are not, as some think, a bad thing. They help a gemologist determine the authenticity of a gem. Man made gems are perfect.... but they are not real earth mined gems, and can be made in the millions, and do not increase in value. The difference between an original oil and a print. Supply and demand rules. For those that do not want to settle for imitations, this is a chance to buy real gems at good prices.
My selling prices are determined by my cost. Many items were purchased decades ago when prices were considerably less.

Better gems and jewelry items are kept in secure location in a city about 1 hour from my home, for security purposes Retrieving an item can cause a slight shipping delay.

NOTE: Supply and demand rules in true gem buying as in every other human investment.
Each earth mined gem is a unique work of art, unlike the lab produced stones that can be produced in unlimited quantities.
Some people will never understand why people buy an original work of art when they can buy a poster for next to nothing.
Earth mined gems are for those that do. Invest in quality.

Topaz is the gem stone for those born in November. It has been used as a gemstone for thousands of years. It is considered the symbol of friendship. Topaz in its natural state is a golden brown to yellow. Naturally occurring blue topaz is quite rare. , and almost all blue topaz on the market has been treated to produce that colour, as is some brown. An old English superstition says that topaz cures lunacy. (Never worked for me! :-) Topaz is the hardest of any silicate mineral, at 8 on the moh's scale.
